Miit Cafe and Bicycle Bar
The centre of Riga’s hipster culture, what started as a bar and fixed-gear bicycle workshop has now morphed into a trendy cafe serving coffee made using a variety of bizarre methods, freshly-made cakes and a variety of vegetarian food.
The bicycles still hang on the walls, but the workshop has moved underground. The moustaches and tattoos remain however. Miit is the perfect place to mix with trendy young Latvians at a Friday or Saturday night’s live music performance or DJ set.
Every working day, Miit offers vegetarian breakfast to go with your bizzare coffee, a business lunch offer and a dinner menu, both also vegetarian of course. The weekend brings a pancake brunch, while later in the evening, drinks, DJs and maybe some live music.
Miit is a just one of the many unique independent local establishments located in Riga’s Central Distict, and a good symbol of Riga’s cultural and gastronomic development in the last 5 years. You don’t even need to have a beard or a bike to enjoy Miit’s vibe.
